Santa Barbara, California, USA
21st - 23rd November 2014

First up is the United States. To commemorate Nat and Raúl's first official date, we are having a weekend-long camping trip with all of you. We have reserved a private area for camping in El Capitan Canyon. Don't worry, this place is super glam!

If you are wearing heels, bring an extra pair of flats since the party is on the grass. That goes for girls and boys!
Itinerary

FRIDAY, 21st

  • 4pm Campsite check-in El Capitan Canyon

  • 5pm Help us build the wedding party camp!

  • 7pm Campsite fireside dinner and sing-song

    • We're renting a grill on Friday night for dinner along with all the basics, but it's BYO FOOD AND DRINK.
      The theme is "Santa Maria Style" with some added Chicano delights // chips, guacamole, cheesy dip, vegetables, stuff for the grill... Bring whatever you want to eat and share!
      Dinner is 100% optional, but we thought this would be fun, cheap & easy.

Locations

EL CAPITAN CANYON

11560 Calle Real, Santa Barbara CA 93117.  Click here for directions to the campsite.

Aside from our wedding there’s loads of fun stuff to do in and around the El Capitan, the beach is minutes away by foot, you can check out one of the free bikes from the campsite, take a whale watching trip, get massage, rent a kayak, visit some llamas, kiss chase...

OUR LADY OF MT CARMEL CHURCH

1300 East Valley Road, Santa Barbara, CA 93108. Click here for directions to the church.

Established in 1856, this church is as beautiful as it is old. It's amazing history and art are not to be missed. The priest also happens to be Irish, which I (Raúl!) thought would make you UK lot feel a little closer to home. There will be a bus shuttling to and from the church if needed.

Accommodation

We’ve reserved a block of cabins & safari tents at El Capitan Canyon which is also where most the wedding fun will take place.
We don't believe in just partying for one night. We really want to milk you for all your fun times, so this is a two night required event!

Go to the ACCOMODATION tab to see the prices and basic details about each option.

Travel & Directions

// FLYING //

For our family and friends who will be traveling from overseas (THANK YOU, we’re so excited you’re coming!) the best airport to fly into is Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and from here you can either drive to Santa Barbara (2 hours, 15 mins by car) or you can take an additional internal flight to Santa Barbara Airport (SBA) which is then a 10 min car ride from the campsite.

If you’re coming from London Air New Zealand is great. Check out Sky Scanner for best deals on flights.

Also don’t forget to get a visa!  It doesn't take long but you can’t get on the plane without it! Click here to apply for your ESTA tourist visa.

If you decide to drive to Santa Barbara from Los Angeles there are tons of LAX car rental services available (Fox, Enterprise, Avis, Dollar etc) which are super very easy to collect from LAX airport.

If you prefer to carpool (aka “get a lift” for the English folks) with other guests who are already driving up to Santa Barbara please let us know when you RSVP or click onto our Raul + Nat Facebook Group to holler.  If this is the case try to land early morning on the Friday or Thursday night.

// BUS //

Take the Santa Barbara Airbus from LAX to Santa Barbara which is super easy and offers multiple trips per day. Click here to find out more.

// DRIVING //

We suspect most of you will be driving to Santa Barbara from Los Angeles which is really pretty drive if you go via the Pacific Coast Highway.

There’s loads of parking available at the campsite but in an effort to be green, save money & be friendly please let us know if you’d like to carpool/give a lift with some others guests by telling us in your RSVP or on the Raul + Nat Facebook Group if you have room in your car or if you need a ride.

It's a bit tricky to find the right off ramp and the right campsite isn't at this exact address, so use the specific directions on here.
